In June 2026 Powapacs demonstrated its deployable power capability to senior Ministry of Defence principals at Old Carter Barracks on Salisbury Plain, hosted by 101 Operational Sustainment Brigade.

The demonstration covered the full architecture: HSR M-Spec soldier-portable power stations, HSX deployable units up to three-phase output, Xray expansion packs and the ARC solar and wind harvesting suite, all on a common charging standard that scales from a single radio stack to brigade infrastructure.

Why it matters

Diesel dominates the sustainment tail. Taking the generator out of the command post removes noise, heat and electromagnetic signature, cuts the fuel convoy requirement, and frees the soldiers who would otherwise be moving and guarding fuel. The brief to principals was simple: this is ready capability, in service today, not a concept slide.

Adoption across the Field Army

Powapacs systems are in service with 7 Signal Group at HQ 3rd (UK) Division, with 14 and 15 Signal Regiments, and with the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps following a fit-out delivered in May 2026. Trials and business cases are in progress across further signals, aviation, armoured and sustainment formations. Equipment is UK-designed and UK-engineered, carries Powapacs-owned CE, UKCA and UN38.3 certification, and is available through CP&F.
